Black Friday Online Purchase

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3a8yfP7HuTA&feature=player_profilepage

On Black Friday 2010 I decided I was going to use some of the money I have been saving up to purchase some cosmetic items that I have really been wanting to try out and here they are:

Sigma Sigmax Synthetic Face Edition Kit
I am so happy to finally have these babies in my possession. I have been wanting to purchase the F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki brush for what feel like ever, but I am very happy that I waited because now I was able to purchase all of them in one kit for less than what it would have cost me to purchase each brush individually. I am happy to say that these brushes are all very soft (like all Sigma brushes that I have purchased). The only thing that has upset me so far about the brushes is that when I went to wash them for the first time before using them I noticed that it took me a really long time to wash out much of the shampoo that I used to clean them with. Every time I would set them out to dry I would go back to check on them and noticed that when I would touch them often they would foam up so they still had alot of product left in them from the shampoo. I would suggest mixing your shampoo with water before applying directly to the brushes to wash because maybe since they are so thick in bristles they build up easily. Other than that no complaints. I did have to wash them more than 4 times to finally get rid of the majority of the shampoo still left in them. I still have yet to try them when applying my daily cosmetics but have a feeling I will not be disappointed.

Sigma F55
This is another brush I have been waiting to purchase. I did not really have need for it but decided to purchase it to help with my brush collection.Very soft and the brush itself I feel will be great for applying powder form of highlighter to my face.

Sigma F05
This small contour brush is a long awaited brush as well. Very soft. Has enough firmness and perfect shape to contour. I would love to try it also to apply liquid foundation.

Sigma F45
Finally I have the buffer kabuki brush. I had one previously but had given it away as a gift. This soft and dense brush will surely be perfect to buff out anything I need.

Sigma Maxbag
This bag is huge. Now I can finally use it for all my traveling purposes or when I am simply in rush and on the go. It fits everything I would need to fit an away from home makeup application.

MAC Fluidline Blacktrack

This is another product that I have really been wanting. I still need to practice more on my eyes on how to apply precise lines. I love the fact that the jar that it comes in is glass. The pay off is great. Hopefully it will last me a while.

MAC Painterly Paint Pot
Finally I have an eye primer that works. I first purchased MAC eye Prep and Prime. It was a very disappointing purchase. I thought it would be a good eye primer based on the name but it did everything that it should not have (it always creased no matter how thin of a layer I applied before my eyeshadows). DO NOT BUY MAC PREP AND PRIME EYES instead purchase a Paint Pot, of which you will have much more options in color that you desire to aim for. Packaging is in glass so it will not dry out as quickly as if it were stored in plastic container.

Last but not least some brush guards to protect my Sigma brushes when drying, traveling, or storing.

Makeup By TiffanyD

My interest in makeup began in high school. I like seeing it on other girls but never really had the guts to do much of it on my own. I would try it out on certain occasions but still did not find it to be something that I would be able to with great success on an everyday basis. Such occasions would be like prom, picture day...etc.

Later on in college I began to wear makeup more often. On the weekends I began to become consistent on how often I wore and practiced makeup on myself. I was slowly falling in love with this art. I was amazed at how some of the females around me could look so amazing wearing makeup. Yet, I also noticed that when they took it off or went a day without wearing it they would hate to take pictures and make comments about how horrible they looked in their own natural skin. I found it scary and took a couple of steps back. I did not want to feel uncomfortable like they did when they did not have makeup on. I still loved makeup, but did not want to depend on it to define my beauty or who I am when I am in public.

I came across on youtube a young woman in the 20s going by the user name of Makeup by TiffanyD. Immediately I noticed the ease that she has in making videos that helped explain the application of makeup. I do not know it is the camera that she uses or the lighting. All I know is that there is something about how easily she explains things in her makeup tutorials that makes it so much easier for me to feel confident in my own skin when wearing makeup. I am sure that she has received plenty of comments or messages that demonstrate negativity , yet she has shown persistence in continuing to do what she says she enjoys, makeup. I simply want to take this moment to thank the first makeup artist and teacher that has inspired me and given me a great introduction into the world of makeup.

If you are looking for some makeup advice or do not know that much about makeup, I do recommend her. I feel that she knows what she is talking about. She has great demonstrations for different kinds of looks from dramatic to simple looks that can be used for everyday. She has shared a bit of information about herself on her blog and like here and there in her films/ tutorials. Overall she is awesome at what she does.

Feel free to leave any comments or thoughts below.

Coatal Scents (My first order)

Here is a video review of the products I bought.

I am writing this blog to review my first Coastal Scents order. In this order I bought:
Brushes
Palette
Brush Guards
Concealer

Starting with the Palette:
I bought the 88 Piece Makeup Palette (not the shimmer on just the one first one with regular colors). So far I love this palette. It includes a wide range of colors from nudes to pink, purple, green, blues, brown...etc. I am not a person that uses or experiments much with colors which is why I bought this one. When I do decide to try a defining color I am now able to have a good set of choices that this palette provides. They are very pigmented and so far show a promising future in my newly started collection. Most are matte and some contain shimmer or frosty looks.

Brush Guards:
I bought these brush guards because I saw some videos on YouTube and figured they would not be so bad. I did not really buy them for the cases where I have to clean my brushes because when I clean them I hang them up on a hanger facing down. Therefore, the reason I bought them was because I do not have a makeup bag or case to put my brushes in when I travel. I did not want the hairs/fibers on the brushes to get messed up or damaged. So these brush guards are the perfect thing for traveling with my brushes. No matter what bag I put them in now I rest assured that they will be very well protected. I did try them when washing just to see how they work and I would give it an A+. They do their job right, but just note that it may increase the time that the brushes need to be left alone in order to dry. When I ordered from Coastal Scents I wanted to get the variety pack, however they were sold out. So I simply bought a pack of each size from large to extra small. Overall very happy with the Brush Guards.

Concealer:
I purchased the Medium Camo Quad from their website. There is a lighter and darker shade than this one. I got the medium on guessing that I would be some where in between. I love this. It is so creamy based and really does the job. Has more than one color to really be able to blend to get the right coverage out of a concealer. Overall great job.

Synthetic Concealer Shading Brush- Good for use as a concealer, however I loved this brush to really pack on eye shadows.

Black Crease Brush- Great brush for adding definition of darker shades to eyes, works great at the crease area and firm enough for the job.

Black Detail Synthetic- Great for inner eye application. Very small but firm.

Taklon Flat Liner Concealer- Used for liner. Very firm and does a good job.

Sable Blending Brush- Quite big for my eyes but still blends okay. It is very soft but at the same time a bit too flimsy. I would say it is okay. When drying smells horrible.

Black Sable Buffer- When you feel it is so soft. Very well pack with bristle.
Does great job of buffering. Only bad thing is that when drying after wash or during wash it smells horrible, like animal. Other than smell great brush. Recommended that you get one that is not made of sable hairs or it will smell.Synthetic Concealer Shading Brush- I bought this to pack in eyeshadow and it does a great job of it. It is a bit large but small enough for me. Could also be used as a concealer. Like it.

Pink Kabuki- Love this brush. It is so soft and very cute since it is pink. Really packed with bristles packed in and firm enough to get the job done great. Use it to apply my pressed foundation and buff it in at the same time. Very happy with this brush. Highly recommended.

Silver Duo Fiber Stippling Brush- Lover this brush for liquid foundation. The second time around I finally got the hand of how to use it. Very soft. Will shed alot when washing after a while or second wash it will not shed as much. Still love it, really flawless airbrush look.Black Crease Brush- Really good brush for adding in that defining color at your crease especially for smokey eye looks. Small enough and firm enough. Very satisfied with it.
